Ottawa Footy Street: Ottawa’s First Family-friendly Soccer Tournament and Arts Festival

OTTAWA — August 2, 2016 — On Saturday, Aug. 6, Ottawa Footy Street Festival takes over the ByWard Market. The first of its kind in our Nation’s Capital, the festival is a multi-cultural event that mirrors the values of our community, healthy living and good sportsmanship promoted by the international game of soccer.

In partnership with Ottawa’s largest urban arts organization House of PainT, soccer players, attendees and their families can participate in a fun, respectful, and interactive environment. Attendees will also be thrilled to witness entertainment running throughout the day, including live street art, street dancers, DJ’s, and live performances.

As the largest growing urban arts event in the Nation’s capital and one of Ottawa’s fastest growing community events, the 13th Annual House of PainT Festival of Arts and Culture prepares to celebrate hip hop and urban culture under Dunbar Bridge in Brewer Park on August 25-28, 2016.

Aug. 28: Hip Hop Brunch, Knowledge Conference + Master Classes and Live Concert with EPMD and A-F-R-O & Marco Polo, Brewer Park, 11am

House of PainT Festival of Arts and Culture started in 2003, after Ottawa-Gatineau-based urban artists lobbied for a graffiti wall and the city granted the Free Zone for Legal Art underneath Dunbar Bridge where Bronson Avenue crosses Rideau River.
