Dear friends,
As an avid east-coast hip hop contributor & supporter (long before I pursued university studies in Halifax), I have always been an adoring Buck 65 (Rich Terfry) fan.
If you have never had the chance to listen to Buck 65′s music, you are missing Canadian lyricism at its finest over experimental sound blending hip hop, blues, country, rock, folk & avant garde.
Having followed Buck 65′s career from Vertex to Synesthesia to Square to Situation to his Dirtbike trilogy, I have watched his artistry grow and flourish across continents. I had the special opportunity to interview him during my university years when he released Secret House Against the World. At the time, Buck 65′s experimental sound had seemed to shift from what hip hop heads were accustomed to from him Stinkin’ Rich era… I admired him for taking that risk thus expanding his prominence and in turn, his international audience.
I have now been invited to tour with Buck 65 across 5 Ontario cities scheduled to perform 7 shows starting this Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Black Sheep Inn in Wakefield, QC.
For all the true hip hop heads living in the Ottawa and Toronto areas, I hope you will join us and experience what is Buck 65.

Much love and hope to see you soon -

Hello Show Stoppers!
I’d like to thank each of you for your ongoing support of my music and for motivating me to create my third album “Listen to Your Art”, which will officially be released tonight at Rancho Relaxo in Toronto.
This album is a reflection of experiences that have changed me as a person and given me opportunities to develop my artistry. Anyone who has ever created art knows the feeling of accomplishing something with meaning. “Listen to Your Art” carries the message that what we create represents how we feel… therefore it is essential that we listen to that voice inside of us.
I am grateful to the team behind “Listen to Your Art” – all beats/cuts are by Bix and the album was engineered and mastered by Andrew Kilgour (Fresh Kils) at the Kilzone. Toronto artist Saidah Conrad blessed the album on the track “It’s Sunny”. Thank you also to my label Droppin’ Science Productions for your ongoing support of my music and to 2011 Juno-Nominated rap artist Ghettosocks for motivating me to keep building.
Thanks to The NE Inc. and MuchFACT for supporting my first music video for the debut single “Show Stopper” from “Listen to Your Art”. Multiple 2011 MMVA Nominee Director Marc André Debruyne’s vision for this song was truly inspirational for all the women out there changing the game.
For anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, you can catch the “Show Stopper” video here
I hope “Listen to Your Art” inspires each of you and that you will in turn share it with the people who inspire you: KOOL KRYS – LISTEN TO YOUR ART

Kool Krys & DJ Ducats – CBC Ottawa Share Central 2011
Ottawa residents donated over $25,000 yesterday at CBC Ottawa’s annual holiday fundraiser Share Central in support of local homeless youth centre Operation Come Home.
It meant a lot to me to be involved in this community event and perform with Ottawa CKCU 93.1FM radio host of “Tha New Journey” DJ Ducats.
It is wonderful to witness the generosity among Ottawa residents towards supporting this important cause.
Here is a clip from my performance with DJ Ducats on CBC Radio One’s All In a Day with host Alan Neal .
Support Operation Come Home and donate online here .
Soon after releasing my second LP “Perfume” last month, CBC Radio One’s Bandwidth contacted me for an interview.
Producer Caitlin Crockard caught up with me to chat about childhood, musical influences, and youth engagement.
